The Joseph Tauber Scholarship Program allows children of eligible 1199SEIU members who attend accredited undergraduate programs to be considered for need-based financial awards. Award amounts vary according to need, with a minimum annual award of $750. Awards can be used for tuition, loan debt reduction, book purchase, expenses, or transportation.
One of the advantages of the Joseph Tauber Scholarship Program is that it is not a one-time award. While award renewals are not automatic, previous scholarship recipients who reapply for an award can be considered for support the following academic year. The Study Incentive Program offers current award recipients another option for scholarship support. The award was established to encourage academic achievement and to reward academic excellence. The Program is available for current awardees who maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher per semester.
